THE ART OF FOOD 10th Anniversary

Wednesday, February 24 & Friday, February 26, 2016

AOF2016logo

Renowned for pushing culinary arts to new extremes, The Carnegie is excited to commemorate the 10th anniversary of its Art of Food experience over two nights with a creative twist on the popular farm-to-table movement. The Art of Food: Farm to Gallery will be a celebration of food, where it comes from, and those inspired by it.

Artist Pam Kravetz leads an impressive lineup of artists who will construct an interactive environment to showcase the creations of some of the Tri-state’s top chefs. At the center of the event will be a raised barn loft where musicians and performers will bring the farm-to-table concept to life with a contemporary art spin. Other highlights include a “butcher shop” gallery transformation, an American Gothic panorama created from edible materials, and paintings and sculptures celebrating food and farm. Attendees will also have the chance to take a look back at the history of The Art of Food.

The signature Art of Food experience featuring 20 chefs that Carnegie patrons have come to love over the past ten years will take place Friday, February 26, 2016. For those interested in a more intimate art and dining experience, there will be a special 10th Anniversary event featuring seven local chefs on Wednesday, February 24, 2016.

ART OF FOOD 2008

February 29 – March 28, 2008

Ornate edible creations and sculpture were often created for celebrations in the cities and courts of early modern Europe. The 2nd Annual Art of Food exhibition paid homage to this past “tradition” and featured food as more than a necessity; but a taste experience. During the event, top chefs and culinary experts from the Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati area blended their culinary talents with talented local artists and actors to stage the dynamic way in which food comprises an art form.

Guests were treated to a scrumptious sampling while visually feasting on works by John Wolfer, a Celebration Party Table by 18 local artists, including: Barb Ahlbrand (May Day),Darryl Berry (Christmas), Halena Cline (Summer Solstice), Yvonne Cooper (Rosh Hashanah), Laura Davis (April Fool’s), Sandy Gantzer (Sweetest Day), Jancy Jaslow (Earth Day),Terri Kern (Winter Solistice), Pam Kravetz (Day of the Dead), Paul Kreft (St. Bridget’s Day), Carla Lamb (Black Friday), Susan Mahan (Mother’s Day),Raymond Miller (Hanukkah), Karen Saunders (Chinese New Year), Leslie St. Clair (Derby Day) Linda Suter (New Year’s), Glenda Suttman (Easter), Brenda Tarbell (Birthday), Dana Tindall (Arbor Day), and Karan Witham-Walsh(Groundhog’s Day).
