School Partnerships
The Carnegie is proud to partner with the Covington Independent Public Schools to provide enriching arts experiences for kids
who greatly benefit and might not otherwise be exposed to the arts.
The following programs are currently offered:
Pre-school Programming
- Pre-schoolers enjoy art and drama experiences designed to reinforce the pre-school curriculum for Covington Independent Public
Schools. Art classes take place at The Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center in the Eva G. Farris Education Center.
The Drama and Movement classes take place onsite with each classroom individually.
School Workshops
- 4th Graders enjoy a three hour workshop focused on designing a never-before-seen invention while reviewing core concepts
provided by the classroom teacher. In small groups, participants will build their invention and present it to the class.
- NEW! Rare Bug Workshops for 3rd Grade: In this 2 hour workshop, students will explore insects and their habitats while designing a new species of bug to be displayed.
- 2nd Graders enjoy a two hour Super Hero Training Camp which focuses on social skills and acceptance.
The students experience Super Hero obstacle courses, discover their super powers and weaknesses, and after working together
to solve a world crisis, they will graduate to become real Super Heroes.
